Jenny Högstrom, Sopran
Jenny Högström is a young soprano, born in Luleå, Sweden. In the spring of 2010, she completed her Bachelor in Music, studying with Synnöve Dellqvist; and in the spring of 2012 she graduated with honors from Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with a Master of Arts in Historical Perfomance, studying for Prof. Ulrich Messthaler. Jenny is currently continuing her studies with a Master in Music pedagogy. During her studies she has undertaken master classes with Andreas Scholl, Margreet Honig, Alessandro de Marchi, Birgitta Svendén and Barbro Marklund.
Jenny has a broad solo repertoire including sacred works and oratorio and opera repertoire; from the early baroque to the late romantic, as well as the lied repertoire, which always had a special place in her heart.
Some of the highlights as a soloist includes the role of Vagaus in Vivaldi’s oratiorio Juditha Triumphans (2011) together with La Cetra Barockorchester, the role of Asprano from Vivaldi’s opera Motezuma (2012) and as a soloist in Theater Basel’s production of The Fairy Queen (2012). Jenny also had the opportunity to collaborate with internationally renowned conductors, such as Andra Marcon, Hervé Niquet and Michael Form and has also been a member of several professional vocal ensembles, such as La Cetra Vocalensemble, Zürcher Sing-Akademie, Origen Ensemble Vocal and English Voices.
Jenny has received scholarships for young musicians from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and from RotaryClub.
